Pushkin. The center of the architectural ensemble is the fascinating Catherin's palace, the summer residence of Catherine the Great. The Amber room is the treasure in the "Golden Suite" of rooms (arch. Rastrelli). Once it was compared by one of the contemporaries to the wonder of the world.

Pavlovsk is the summer residence of the Catherine's son, the heir of the throne, the future emperor—Paul I. The fine example ofthe 18 century classical architecture. The only survived palace int the world of the Directory epoch. The palace park is the biggest in Europe (600 hectars).

Peterhof is one of the oldest contryside residences of the Russian Tzars, world famous for its palaces and fountains just on the shore of the Gulf of Finland. It is an outstanding example of the palace architecture. There are 11 museums in Peterhof, you can visit small palaces (Cottage, Monplaisir, Marli, Hermitage, Catherine's pavillion, Bath pavillion).
You can combine this trip with visit of palaces in Strelna (Konstantinovskij Palace), and Oranienbaum (Chineese Palace). Lunch can be added to the tour.

Kronshtadt island Kotlin and the nothern shore of the Gulf of Finland. This is Russian naval military base, the old system of fortification artificial islands—forts around the island Kotlin to protect St. Petersburg from the sea. A lot of artifacts that was saved the early days of the city.
